  12. Look, this discussion is becoming ludicrous.  If you have a problem with
  13. how much the *tape* costs, then go out and buy your own blank tape and save
  14. the $3.

  16. However, we are not talking about how much the tape costs.  Packaging is
  17. always among the smallest costs in the overall package.  We are talking
  18. about the worth of the information that is contained on the medium.  Do you
  19. think it costs Adobe $560 worth of material to sell Photoshop?  Hell no.
  20. The manual and diskettes/CD-ROM probably total about $50.  The other 92% of
  21. the cost of the software is for the PRODUCT, not the PACKAGE.  You're paying
  22. for the time and effort to develop, test, market, etc. the system.

  24. I think they are imparting knowledge/information that is worth the asking
  25. price.  They have spent the time and effort to become (we assume) successful
  26. businessmen in this field, and they are making that information available
  27. to everyone.
